Spiritual Programs for Adults

Our busy lives, the activities of our children, and the travel opportunities of seniors make it hard to find one solution that fits all. Our goal is to provide a variety of opportunities and allow each person to find what fits them best.

Pastor’s Study

The Pastor’s Study at FPC Watertown is an opportunity to deeply explore Christian faith and the issues facing modern followers of Jesus. The 2023-2024 Pastor’s Study is a little bit of everything: Bible study, book study, and social and political exploration.

Going Deeper

(completed)

Drawing on wisdom from a wide range of Christian traditions, Going Deeper is about developing a sort of faith that is resilient and strong in complex times. There has never been a more vital time for Christians to reexamine how they read the Bible, what forms their beliefs, and how vital, flourishing Christian community can be formed. Going Deeper will help us do that! Click here for more information

The Chosen Bible Study

(completed)

What was it like to encounter Jesus face-to-face? How would He have made you feel, or changed your way of thinking about God? Would He have turned your world upside down? We are pleased to offer "The Chosen" in a series of 45 minute film episodes on the big screen in Fellowship Hall starting February 20. Click here for more information.

Daring Greatly Book Study

(completed)

Daring Greatly is not about winning or losing. It’s about courage. In a world where “never enough” dominates and feeling afraid has become second nature, vulnerability is subversive. Uncomfortable. And, without question, putting ourselves out there means there’s a far greater risk of getting criticized or feeling hurt. But when we step back and examine our lives, we will find that nothing is as uncomfortable, dangerous, and hurtful as standing on the outside of our lives looking in and wondering what it would be like if we had the courage to step into the area - whether it’s a new relationship, an important meeting, the creative process, or a difficult family conversation. Daring Greatly is a practice and a powerful new vision for letting ourselves be seen.

Led by Pastor Andrew, this book study will meet following worship and fellowship on Sunday mornings in the Lounge. You may obtain a copy of the book however is most convenient for you - a limited number will be available in the church office starting November 1.
