Sunday evenings 6:30 PM (September-June)

There are two youth groups at First Presbyterian, currently led by a team of caring adult leaders. Our purpose is to show the youth what it means to live out their faith in Christ through interactions with and service to others while also having fun along the way. We encourage the youth of families attending our church to also invite their friends to join in. Our groups will begin regular meetings for the fall of 2010 on September 19.

Mid-high Group

The mid-high group is designed for students in grades 7 and 8. The emphasis at this age level is learning to be part of a group and serving others, usually in a local context. We focus on practical topics, rather than Bible study per se. Our feeling is that the students are getting a strong foundation in the essential tenets of our faith in their confirmation class. Our meetings are the first, third and fifth Sundays.

Senior High Group

The senior-high group invites students in grades 9 through 12 to join in. This group participates in national and international mission experiences as well as performing local service projects. In the past, we have worked on construction projects in places as diverse as Tijuana, Mexico, New Orleans, Louisiana and Campeche, Mexico. We still play games and have fun, but we add in a bit more Bible learning appropriate for this level. Our meetings are most Sundays.
