Associate Pastor's Report Rev. Matt Schultz
Moving On
While many of you have already received this news, I would
like to share it here again, since the newsletter reaches
members of our church family that are dispersed far and wide,
and may not yet have heard. It is with mixed emotions that
I submit to you notice of my resignation as your Associate
Pastor. I currently anticipate my last day of employment to
be in mid-July of 2008.
While we have enjoyed our time at First Presbyterian Church
and have grown to love the people here, an opportunity has
opened up to Elizabeth and I that we cannot allow ourselves to
miss: We have been asked to serve together as Co-Pastors for
Youth Ministry at a church in Princeton, NJ.
It will be hard for us to say goodbye and leave our friends and
church family. We pray that God will continue to bless this
church as it seeks to follow God's call. Likewise, we ask that
you pray for us, as we seek to be God's servants in this next
chapter of our lives.
I am grateful for all of the love, support, and opportunity that
this church has provided for me and Elizabeth since our arrival.
You have given me my start in ordained ministry. You have
welcomed our children into your family, especially joining us
in celebrating the arrival of Anna. And you have encouraged
me and further confirmed my lifelong call as a Pastor. Please
accept my sincere thanks. My experiences here and your
kindness to me will be passed on to those I serve wherever
God calls me.
